Wounded Warriors in Action

Established in 2007, the Wounded Warriors in Action Foundation (WWIA) is a national 501(c)(3) non-profit organization headquartered in Apollo Beach Florida. The WWIA is dedicated to serving our nation's combat wounded, Purple Heart recipients, by providing world-class outdoor sporting activities.

Our Mission

The WWIA aids in healing the hearts and minds of our Nation's combat wounded heroes (Purple Heart recipients) by providing world-class outdoor sporting activities, chiefly consisting of hunting and fishing opportunities across America.

Our Situation

The country has been at war for over 9 years now.

As of 27 May 11, the combined number of wounded warriors from OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM and OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM and OPERATION NEW DAWN (OND) was 43,643. See U.S. Casualty Report These men and women are our nation's most treasured asset.

Americans want to help, most are unsure how -- the WWIA provides you an opportunity to make a difference in our heroes' lives. Hunting and fishing provide excellent opportunities to assist our wounded veterans in recovering - mentally, physically and spiritually from their war experiences.

The WWIA Goals

  • Increase Self-Reliance
  • Bolster Self-Confidence
  • Enjoy the Great Outdoors
  • Promote Spiritual Healing and Wellness
  • Instill a Sense of Belonging
